Theoretically, SuperAdobe building is easy:

– Dig a trench in the outline of the walls and fill it with rocks.
– Fill bags with earth and stack them like bricks along the rocky trench.
– Compact and level each layer of bag adding barbed wire as you go.
– Add windows and doors.
– Plaster the walls to protect them from the sun.
– Add a roof and you’re done

In reality though, building a SuperAdobe home is a bit more involved than that. But we’ve got you covered with this step-by-step tutorial. SuperAdobe Technology is constantly evolving and so is this tutorial. If you have a way to make it better please shoot us a message.

We believe that education is a 100% process. If the teacher only puts in 10% effort then the student has to put in 90% effort to learn. Our goal at Hope & Homes is to teach natural building in an immersive way that helps the student truly understand the concepts in much less time and with. We’ve tried our best to put in that 90% teaching effort so that you can get to 100% understanding with only 10% effort. We accomplish this by appealing to each of the 7 learning styles with various kinds of media. For each step of the building process you will find:

SUB-STEPS

  • 360 Virtual Reality

For most steps you will find 360 VR panoramas of Super Adobe structures in that state of development. These as extremely high resolution (14000 x 7000 pixels) HDR panoramas. Feel free to zoom in and out and all around.

  • 3D CAD Models

Our 3D CAD models are Open Source and were built with love in SketchUp rather than AutoCAD, so that you can download them for free. By all means, play around, if you break it too bad just come download a fresh copy from our sight. Add on and improve the models and send them back to us. It’s it’s good will even update our site with the improved models. The artwork in the models were created using layers so you can turn on and off any parts of the models you want.

  • Straight Forward Text Content

Each section has basic text explanations with advanced text drop-downs for additional information. Believe it or not, this was one of the hardest parts of building this tutorial. There’s so much information out there and it’s beginner, intermediate and advanced are often all lumped in together. We’ve done our best to sort that out.

  • Images Galleries

Pictures from around the world of Super Adobe builds in that stage of construction. Feel free to share your builds with us via email and we will be happy to add them to the tutorial.

  • Video Tutorial

Video tutorials explaining the technicalities and overview of each step.

  • Tools & Materials

A list of reusable tools and consumed materials that’ll you’ll need for each step.
